Darcy's Diary: Inside the Martha Stewart Wedding Party!
Instead of sharing three things I'm loving this week, I wanted to give you a peek inside our annual Martha Stewart Wedding Party. Every year, we host an amazing event with Claudia Hanlin's Wedding Library in New York City and Chicago. Our NYC party at Gotham Hall almost went off without a hitch. The reason for almost? It happened to fall on the same weekend as Winter Storm Jonas! The city was covered in over 25 inches of snow; there was a travel ban; and everything was shut down. Luckily, the sun came out on Sunday morning and the party was able to still happen! We thank all of the amazing vendors and brides who came out to join us. And brides and grooms can learn something from this: You always need a weather-related wedding back-up plan! You can't control Mother Nature!
Our wedding events are a great way to stumble upon new vendors and get new great ideas and inspiration. Here, just a few photos from inside the venue.
(P.S. Martha Stewart Wedding Party Chicago is March 6th at the Ritz-Carlton Chicago! If you're in the area, we hope you can join us. Follow the party's Facebook page for more ticket info!)
What bride-or woman for that matter!-doesn't love a good pair of shoes? Our former cover girl, Sarah Jessica Parker, had an amazing booth at our party to show off all of the fabulous shoes from her new bridal collection.
A Cameo by Martha!
Martha not only stopped by to check out the great vendors, like beauty brand Laura Geller, she also took the stage to speak with myself and our editor-in-chief Amy Conway. We talked all things weddings, of course!
NYC-based florist and event designer Chris Hessney of Hessney & Co., in collaboration with The Tabletop Company and The Wedding Library, designed the seriously stunning tablescapes featuring these incredible centerpieces. Talk about #weddinginspo!
A Grand White Wedding Cake
Madison Lee's Cakes created this beautiful four-tiered confection adorned with out-of-this-world sugar flowers! It's a masterpiece!
Elan Artists kept the party going by playing some amazing music!
Brides were able to check out our brand-new wedding-planning book Martha Stewart Weddings: Ideas & Inspiration. Have you picked up your copy yet?!
