Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Already Have a List of Baby Names
Apparently, it's quite long.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will likely stick to royal protocol and keep the gender of their baby under wraps-and they'll probably take the same approach to sharing potential baby names. Though we won't know the name of the royal couple's future child until he or she is born, the Duchess of Sussex just revealed that the soon-to-be parents already have a long list of possibilities.
According to Entertainment Tonight, Meghan was asked (by a little boy!) if she had chosen a name during an official outing in Melbourne, Australia. Turns out, they already have plenty of options to sort through. "We've been given a long list of names from everyone. We're going to sit down and have a look at them," she replied, adding that it's still quite early-she's due in the spring-and that she and her husband hadn't finalized any decisions yet.
The pregnancy announcement came just days after Prince Harry and Meghan returned to the site of their wedding, St. George's Chapel in Windsor, England, for his cousin Princess Eugenie's nuptials. Hours after revealing the news, Meghan debuted her baby bump during the first leg of their Australian tour.
During an initial appearance in their two-week trip, Harry touched on the subject as he wrapped up a speech. "We also couldn't think of a better place to announce the, um, upcoming baby. Boy or girl. So, thank you very much," he said, while glancing at his wife and smiling. Regardless of the child's sex, the names will most likely pay tribute to family members, as Prince William and Kate Middleton have done with their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. Though if it's a girl, many speculate the couple will honor Prince Harry's late mother, Princess Diana, in some way.
