Retired U.S. soccer star Abby Wambach is used to scoring goals. But this weekend, the two-time Olympic gold medalist scored something else: a brand new engagement ring.

Jason Ritter Is Engaged to Melanie Lynskey

On Sunday, her now-fiancée and popular mom blogger Glennon Doyle Melton took to Instagram to announce the news to friends and fans.

"Abby and I decided to hold hands forever. First, fiercely, and forever," she wrote, showcasing the couple's amazing rings. Wambach shared the photo too, writing "Happy. #iseethemoonnow."

The couple first went public in November with an uplifting Facebook message written by Doyle Melton. "PRECIOUS WORLD: I LOVE ABBY," the author's post stated. She signed it off with "Love Wins."

Clearly, that love is still going very strong! Wambach also recently Instagrammed a Valentine's Day collage of the pair, writing "I found myself when I met you @glennondoylemelton The end. I Love you!"

Both women have had previous marriages and began dating shortly after their respective splits. Between that and the fact that they're a same-sex couple, Doyle Melton was wary of how her largely-Christian community would react to the relationship (and now, the engagement). Luckily for all, her fans were overwhelmingly supportive, recognizing that love is love.

"I'm just so freaking grateful for the love and openheartedness you've shown my family since our announcement," she wrote on social media. "Wasn't the love and support and kindness from so many who are so different just awe inspiring?" Overwhelmed with positivity, she concluded by saying thanks. "Abby and I and so many more are forever grateful for you," she told her followers. "I'm just a puddle of lovey mush over here."

Three cheers for the happy fiancées, and for everyone out there who knows that all love is equal.
