See Our Favorite Looks From the Spring 2016 Bridal Shows

For some of the pros backstage at the recent collections in New York, aisle-ready beauty looks couldn't be described in one word. In a new twist, it is a combination of straight, curly, braided, and bunned strands that are adding up to a single head-turning creation. Here, a few of our favorite options that pair different textures, along with the expert tips on how to emulate them for the big day.

The Bend

Get Inspired by More Bridal Hairstyles From the Runway

As Seen At: Jenny Packham

The Inspiration: A modern update on A Midsummer Night's Dream

Get the Look: To get this look that marries straight and wavy strands, Unite hairstylist Kevin Ryan started with a clean center part. He added extra volume and texture at the roots with Unite Expanda Dust ($26.25). Next, using a flat iron (Ryan recommends the Unite Flat Iron, $225), he straightened the hair root to tip. Using the flat iron again, he took sections of hair at ear level and created two to three bends, leaving the ends of the hair stick straight. He continued around the whole head for an ethereal halo effect.

Double Chignon

The Inspiration: Sunday chic

Get the Look: The classic chignon gets a carefree update in this artfully undone look created by hairstylist Franco Della Grazia. He started by blow-drying Redken Full Frame 07 Protective Volumize Mousse ($18) into the hair and combing it through with his fingers to give strands grip and texture. He then sporadically curled sections of the hair for relaxed movement. After finding a loose side part, he divided the hair into two ponytails and formed side-by-side knots with varying volume and looseness with the two sections. To secure, he tucked the end of the knots into the ponytail base and pinned them. He finished with a light hold hairspray like Redken Fashion Work 12 Hairspray ($18).

Discover Beauty Hacks Straight From the Spring 2016 Bridal Runways

As Seen At: Claire Pettibone

The Inspiration: Windswept Little House on the Prairie

Get the Look: At Claire Pettibone, Privé hairstylist Laurent Dufourg enhanced the model's natural texture and incorporated playful braids perfectly suited for the romantic bride. To achieve this look, no blow-drying or curling irons were needed. He started by brushing hair back and creating two small braids at the top of the head. He brought the rest into a low ponytail and secured it. Next, he took the two braids and crisscrossd them around the ponytail. A finishing spritz of Privé Finishing Texture Spray ($30) added more height and texture at the crown.

Floating Florals

As Seen At: Carolina Herrera

The Inspiration: The white jasmine flower

Get the Look: Aveda guest artist Jonathan Reyman struck that effortless balance of perfectly imperfect with this softly textured look. He began by prepping the hair with Aveda Thickening Tonic ($28) to give full body and texture without any dulling effects. He then curled all of the hair around a big barrel curling iron. The curl is there to create movement and dimensionality more than about being perfectly curly, so he advises not taking it too seriously. After running his fingers through the curls to break them up and keep them wavy, he grabbed bits of hair and tied them together with elastics to create a crisscrossing pattern. To finish, he placed sprigs of fresh jasmine in the elastics to give the appearance of flowers floating in the hair. A setting spray of Aveda Control Force ($28) keeps strands polished.

Bohemian Braids

As Seen At: Houghton

The Inspiration: A gypsy's exotic world travels

Get the Look: Brian Buenaventura of Management Artists created unique looks for each model at Houghton, incorporating tiny braids and messy buns. He added texture from the get-go by applying Redken Guts 10 ($18) throughout hair and blow-drying it roughly. He braided random sections of hair using different techniques—French braids, fishtail braids, and classic braids. He kept the look undone and romantic by loosening the braids and teasing them to give them enhanced texture. He shaped and pinned the braids into a loose half-up-half-down style or updo style and then finished the look with Redken Quick Dry 18 Hair Spray ($18).
