Musician Roy Orbison Jr. Is Married!
This won't be his only wedding, however.
According to People, the couple wed on the steps of Johnny Cash's cabin. "It's holy ground for me," Orbison told the outlet, noting the location's special meaning. "My grandparents lived within shouting distance, and my brothers died in a fire not far away." Cash was also Orbison's godfather, and his late father's best friend. In the same vein, John Carter Cash was chosen as the couple's officiant. "I've known him since birth," Orbison shared, adding "I love him so much."
Hallgren wore a vintage silk-and-lace wedding dress from the 1940s, which was given to her by her brother-in-law. She accessorized with Tory Burch sandals. Her gold wedding band has six yellow diamonds and was purchased from Tiffany. "Asa is my ray of sunshine so it fit," Orbison explained.
The new spouses currently share a daughter, and are expecting a son in February. In the interview, Orbison told People more about their relationship. "She made me work for it," he shared, revealing that he proposed five times. "I said yes every time," Hallgren clarified. It also took Orbison five tries to get her to move to the United States for him. Because of this, the couple's celebrating the reoccurring number by having five different weddings. They'll all take place on various June 11ths, which is the day that the pair met. The first is planned to be held at their home in Nashville this coming spring. According to the event planner, Sara Fried of Fête Nashville, it will have "a very European, Great Gatsby ambiance and lots of food celebrating Roy's American roots and Asa's Swedish heritage."
While we can't wait to learn more about the next four celebrations, right now, the newlyweds are content with their first. "It was short and sweet and like a song. And like all the best Roy Orbison songs, I got the girl at the end," the groom shared.
