It's been three months since news broke that actress Michelle Williams was engaged to Thomas Kail, the Tony-winning Hamilton director, and that the duo expecting their first child together. Today, however, People sources are speculating that the couple actually tied that knot in the interim, much to the surprise of the actress' fans.

Though we can't pinpoint exactly when or where these supposed nuptials happened, there is a strong piece of evidence that supports the claim: Williams was recently spotted on a walk with Kail, who was photographed wearing a band on his left ring finger. Neither Kail nor Williams' representatives have commented on or confirmed their marital status, so we'll simply have to wait for the duo to make the announcement to the world on their own terms.

It's possible that we won't know the full story for quite some time, if at all, since Kail and Williams are notoriously private. Since the actress' 14-year-old daughter, Matilda (her father is Williams' first husband, the late Heath Ledger), allegedly played their matchmaker, the four-time Oscar winner and the director have kept their relationship under wraps. They have, however, been spending more time together in the limelight as of late. The pair walked the 2020 Golden Globe's red carpet together; the actress kept her baby bump out of sight in a peach-colored Louis Vuitton number.

If the couple's work trajectory is any indication (Kail directed Williams in the film Fosse/Verdon, for which she won an Emmy Award for best actress in a leading role), married life—and parenting!—will be smooth sailing. "Michelle fell in love," a source told the outlet of the couple's bond. "She is happy and fulfilled and ready for another child."
