Exclusive First Look: Moda Operandi + Tiffany & Co.'s Bridal Capsule Collection
Separately, designers like Monique Lhuillier, Delpozo, Costarellos, Delphine Manivet, and Elizabeth Kennedy create collections of gorgeous gowns fit for the biggest day of your life, each with his or her own unique take on trends, fabrics, silhouettes, and more. But what if these diverse designers combined forces for one ultimate wedding dress line? That's the premise of Moda Operandi and Tiffany & Co.'s bridal collaboration: Ten different designers each dreamed up one incredible gown to be paired with brilliant Tiffany & Co. diamonds during a presentation for Fall 2017 Bridal Fashion Week. The capsule collection will be available exclusively for pre-order on Moda Operandi October 5, but we're giving you an exclusive sneak peek at the one-of-a-kind wedding dresses right now. And if you'd like to see them in person, the wedding dresses and jewelry will be on display at Tiffany & Co.'s Fifth Avenue flagship store in New York City from October 6 through October 9. The exhibit will then travel to Tiffany's Rodeo Drive boutique on October 28 and October 29, followed by the Yorkdale location on November 11 and November 12.
Along with the five names listed above, the dream team is rounded out with J. Mendel, Temperley, Reem Acra, Rosie Assoulin, and Romona Keveza. Click through to see their gowns go from sketch to reality, along with quotes from the designers themselves about what inspired them.
"Committed to the luxury bohemian aesthetic, I drew inspiration for this exclusive gown from contemporary women, effortlessly provocative but at the same time maintaining a playful and elegant simplicity," says Christos Costarellos.
Costarellos M'O Exclusive V-Neck Mermaid Gown, $5,495, modaoperandi.com.
"The dress should be a woman's only makeup," says Delphine Manivet. "I wanted to re-create the color of a cultured pearl. Coco (Chanel) said that a pearl necklace illuminates the face with its aura. I love the idea of working on the color of a cultured pearl that changes between ivory and can be almost transparent at times, and even sometimes a bit grey depending on the light; just like a woman that needs to be bathed in the light! I kept the strong codes of the house as is seen with the 'Suivez Moi Jeune Homme' (Trans: Follow Me Young Man) which is a long flowing ribbon as well as a precise biased cut gown. It's a simple but spectacular gown that perfectly represents the Parisian bride. It's the first time I have expressed an inspiration concerning brilliance and illumination, this idea naturally came to mind for this collaboration with Tiffany's."

"This exclusive bridal gown reinterprets the universe of Delpozo—modern, fresh, and feminine," says Josep Font, creative director of Delpozo. "Delicate fabrics such as silk tulle and Panama cotton with a relaxed silhouette create this timeless style."
Delpozo M'O Exclusive Sleeveless Bow Front Gown, $6,300, modaoperandi.com.
Elizabeth Kennedy contributed not one but two gowns for the capsule collection!
Elizabeth Kennedy M'O Exclusive Strapless Tiered Gown, $19,920, modaoperandi.com.
"The inspiration behind both gowns was to reinterpret classical silhouettes in a more modern way," Kennedy says.
Elizabeth Kennedy M'O Exclusive Sweetheart Foliage Gown, $15,240, modaoperandi.com.
"I think of all my gowns as modern day heirlooms," Gilles Mendel, creative director for J. Mendel, says. "Something you will have and keep forever."
J. Mendel M'O Exclusive Off-The-Shoulder Gown, $6,495, modaoperandi.com.
"For this collaboration I wanted to design an exclusive ball gown silhouette with a high-low hemline and dramatic skirt with Chantilly lace and beaded embroidery to create romance in the movement of the gown," says Monique Lhuillier. "A sheer back fastened with delicate crystal buttons all the way down finishes with one blue button. The traditional 'something blue' is the finishes—a classic bridal gown with a light and modern twist."
"The inspiration for this dress, and really my entire bridal collection, comes from the bride I envision wearing it," Reem Acra says. "A modern woman who is fashionable and feels like the most confident version of herself in my dress."
Reem Acra M'O Exclusive Sophia Off The Shoulder Lace Gown, $11,500, modaoperandi.com.
"I love creating a design that gives brides the option of multiple looks," Romona Keveza says. "This floral appliqué gown, with a detachable silk tulle train, allows the bride to have a majestic look for her ceremony and an equally stunning look for her reception."
Romona Keveza M'O Exclusive One Shoulder Embroidered Lace Gown, $17,450, modaoperandi.com.
Temperley London for Moda Operandi and Tiffany & Co.
Temperley London M'O Exclusive Long Crossbone Lattice Gown, $11,595, modaoperandi.com.
Rosie Assoulin M'O Exclusive Happy Clouds Tie Neck Gown, $3,995, modaoperandi.com.
