Marble detailing and accents can add modern flair and a sleek edge to your big day. Whether in the classic gray-and-white form most commonly found in nature (and many kitchen islands) or a colorful marble blend, there's no wrong way to add the streaky, stylish pattern to your wedding. Consider starting out with marbleized paper lining your stationery suite's envelopes or using a photo-like rendering of the natural stone printed on your paper goods. Keep it going by getting real. Renting furniture made of the actual stone, calligraphing tiles to use instead of traditional paper escort cards, or using pieces of the material to up your centerpieces and overall table décor are all great ways to do just that. And why not mimic its form in an edible way on your wedding cake or cookies given out as favors. We think these colorful, marbleized macarons by Tessa Huff of Style Sweet CA would be too sweet an idea to pass up for a dessert buffet.
The symbolism behind marble is quite fitting for a wedding, too. Marble, the rock, is a sturdy material often used in sculptures, home interiors, and construction. Weaving in something often tied to art, beautiful spaces, and strong foundations is a great idea on your wedding day.
As for marbleized paper—well, it's often hand-made and one-of-a-kind. It can take two colors and swirl them together in a seemingly effortless way. And since a marriage is the blending of two people and their families, why not celebrate with a visual representation of that very act?
