There are so many different ways you can decorate your ceremony aisle: flower petals, a monogrammed fabric runner, glowing candles, and oversized floral arrangements are some of the most popular options. Each is beautiful in its own right, and these ideas are a no-brainer for most couples. But if you and your spouse to be gravitate towards ideas and decorations that feel a little more bohemian, you might be looking for something different.

That's where our favorite new wedding trend comes into play. Ceremony aisles lined with rugs are the perfect decorative detail for boho pairs. Whether you're tying the knot indoors or out, there's a way to incorporate these homey, comforting, colorful textiles into your nuptials.

For a large space, consider layering a variety of different rugs down the length of your aisle. You can find textiles in colors that coordinate with your venue and ceremony flowers, or you can go in the other direction entirely, bringing in vibrant rugs for a splash of fun décor. Give your space an at-home vibe (even if you're tying the knot across the world!) by layering your aisle with Persian rugs. Your guests will feel almost as if they're walking into your family room. Looking for something a little more splashy? Bright rugs stand out in an otherwise all-white space. If you like what you see here, keep going! We found 17 ways to use rugs in your wedding ceremony!

12 Tips for Planning a Monochromatic Wedding That Isn't Just White

When it comes to lining your aisle with rugs, the options are endless. In this all-white space, the bride and groom thought bright rugs would be most eye-catching, and they were certainly right. You can decorate your own ceremony with a pop of color, an unexpected texture, or a shape that feels non-traditional.

Wooden chairs, clusters of baby's breath, and classic oriental runners make for a super simple ceremony space that's still picture-perfect. This arrangement worked especially well for this couple, as they had selected a more dramatic macramé backdrop that they wanted to showcase.
