More Inspiration From Pippa Middleton's Wedding to James Matthews
From the invitations to the kids menu.
Pippa Middleton's wedding to James Matthews has come and gone. But like any wedding-of-the-year, no one's ready to stop talking about it. Luckily, there are plenty of details left to soak in, so buckle up and prepare yourselves for envy-inducing inspo.
First things first: the wedding invitations, which must've accidentally missed our mailboxes. Though an Instagram of the stationery posted by a guest has since been deleted, the Internet has the receipts, ready for our viewing pleasure. As you can see, the cards were beautifully understated, with leafy illustrations that matched the greens in the wedding's ceremony.
Food at the couple's two wedding receptions was equally as impressive, based on reports from various news outlets. Express says that thousands of canapés were served, plus "a muntjac carpaccio with a mushroom filling, fresh langoustine served on langoustine claws, and asparagus spears with hollandaise sauce." If that's not enough of a mouthful, ham was also carved, and-our favorite detail-a parmesan wheel was devoured. Guests also enjoyed foie gras and toasts, sauternes jelly, and plenty of champagne, shares Express. At the other post-ceremony event, lamb and trout were served, and the meal was completed with on-theme Scottish pudding.
Sound too fancy for the plentiful tots in attendance? Prince George and Princess Charlotte likely dined on the kids menu, which included finger sandwiches and crudités, shares the Telegraph. Catering, as we previously reported, was provided by Table Talk.
We've already covered Mrs. Matthews' gorgeous dress, designed by Giles Deacon. But the bride also sported something else special-the same Robinson Pelham earrings she wore to her sister's nuptials, notes E! News. The something-old accessories were absolutely stunning and a heartwarmingly sentimental detail. The children of the wedding had impeccable fashion too, and E! News reports that they were dressed in Pepa & Co.
The post-ceremony party kicked off with the Matthews' exit, which was stylishly achieved in a rare E-type jaguar. Reception guests each had personal passwords-don't you wish your wedding was that important?!-and attendees were heard dancing to the upbeat Isley Brothers song "Shout," says Entertainment Tonight.
While pulling off a similar celebration on your own may not be feasible, we're sure you can find something to take inspiration from. Lower-budget copycat ideas are 100 percent welcome!
