Jason Momoa Says His Wedding to Lisa Bonet Was Supposed to Be a Secret
The former Game of Thrones actor confirmed the news over the weekend.
The rumors were absolutely true-Jason Momoa and Lisa Bonet recently tied the knot after over a decade together. The former Game of Thrones actor confirmed the news to ET Online nearly a month after the ceremony, but if things had gone as planned he may have never formally acknowledged the nuptials.
Momoa said that he and Bonet had planned on keeping their wedding a secret, and urged their guests to do the same. It looks like someone didn't comply. "I thought it would have stayed [a secret], but [someone] leaked it and I will find you," he joked, at a press preview for his new film Justice League. Although his clandestine nuptials may not have gone as planned, Momoa doesn't really mind sharing the news since he's considered Bonet his partner for so long. "You know what, I've been married to my wife for 12 years," he continued. "It's just a gathering of our families and celebrating our love."
It was widely believed that the longtime couple tied the knot in 2007, following the birth of their first child. Before Momoa confirmed the wedding, a source told Us Weekly that the couple married in early October, in their Topanga, California home. "It was a big party and people came from out of town to attend," the insider revealed. Reportedly, several of the Justice League's past castmates were in attendance, as were Michael Fassbender and Alicia Vikander. Bonet's daughter, Big Little Lies star Zoë Kravitz, was also there to support her mom on her walk down the aisle.
Momoa and Bonet first crossed paths in 2005, when they were set up by a mutual friend. According to Momoa, though, he'd had his eye on Bonet long before they met. After watching her on The Crosby Show as a child, he never got her out of his head. Today, the duo share two young children, Lola and Nokoa-Wolf.
