It's been just over a year since Meghan Markle and Prince Harry tied the knot in front of the world, but now the couple is opening up about the details of that historic day. Just a month after their one-year anniversary, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex opened an exhibit displaying their big-day ensembles at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Scotland; the exhibit also features an audio guide that was personally recorded by the royals. According to People, Markle revealed on tape that, due to the massive scale of their celebration, the couple worked hard on making the smaller moments "personal and meaningful" so the "whole experience [felt] intimate."

"A great level of detail went into the planning of our wedding day," Markle said of her ceremony at St. George's Chapel in Windsor Castle, which was attended by 600 people. Bringing personality to a celebration of that scale was no small feat-but both Markle and Prince Harry maintain that they did so through their big-day attire. Prince Harry commented on his outfit choice-a frock coat-revealing that he actually asked his grandmother for permission to wear it at the wedding. "I think it's one of the smartest Household Cavalry uniforms." He continued, "It's one of my favorites, and I was very fortunate to be able to wear that on the day." Markle's Givenchy wedding dress was personalized, too, via her veil, which incorporated a piece of the dress she wore during her first date with her now-husband.

The Duke also noted Prince George's page boy outfit, which was an exact replica of his own ensemble, but featured gold "CG" embroidery on the epaulettes. Princess Charlotte wore an ivory Givenchy dress (like the bride!) with shoes by Aquazurra-her monogram and the wedding date were sewn into their soles. Markle credited Harry for the personal touches, which she said are "such a beautiful keepsake for them."

The royal pair also joked about the size of their wedding party. "We had 10 bridesmaids and page boys under the age of seven, which everybody says is impossible to have them behaving, but they did it!" said Prince Harry. The Duchess agreed: "It was a miracle."
