Margot Robbie Just Said That She's Been Married for Three Years!
Despite reports that Margot Robbie married Tom Ackerley in December, the actress was recently overheard saying that she's actually been married for three years. Confused? So are we! While at the Hamptons International Film Festival, the Goodbye Christopher Robin actress was overheard discussing the actual length of marriage.
"A guest congratulated her on her first-year wedding anniversary. Margot responded, 'It's been three years,'" a source told Page Six. Late last year, Robbie and Ackerley, a director, were tight-lipped about their nuptials, only confirming their marriage after rumors of their secret Australia wedding circulated. Robbie put the gossip to rest with a caption-less photo of her pear-cut engagement ring. But if these new rumors are true, it's looking like the couple stayed quiet about their husband and wife status for much longer.
This isn't the first time we've heard confusing information about the chronology of the stars' relationship. While initial reports suggested that the duo first met on the set of their joint film, Suite Française, in 2013, Robbie told Us Weekly that she lived with Ackerley long before they became a couple-which would imply that they knew each other before the film began production! "My husband and I were roommates before we were even dating, so I'm kind of living with my roommate and it's awesome," she said at the Goodbye Christopher Robin movie premier. "We lived with a bunch of people and now we're just living [as] the two of us, so we feel very grown up now."
We'll have to wait for Robbie to comment on or confirm this surprising new update, but one thing about the couple's marriage timeline is clear-Robbie and her (maybe?) new husband won't be starting a family any time soon. "There's no time for that," Robbie told Extra TV in September. "We have a puppy."
