These Are the Products That Will Make Your Décolletage Look Perfect on Your Wedding Day
It's not hard to remember to pay close attention to your complexion. By now, we've all been told to protect it with sunscreen, make it glow with antioxidant serums, and keep it hydrated with moisturizers. But skincare goes beyond the face—and beyond the standard body lotion, scrub, or peel. When it comes to your neck and chest area, you may be slacking it off, and there's no place it's more apparent than when you're trying on dresses for special occasions. It's easy to go into panic mode in deep-cut wedding dresses or strapless bridesmaids' gowns—both reveal the area in its full. So we decided to take matters into our own hands and tackle the problem of a less than flawless décolletage. We searched far and wide for the best items out there designed specifically for below the chin. Ahead, products that will get your décolletage ready for the wedding.
Whether you're seeking something to firm, smooth, or—yes—even plump, we've found a product for you. Have you ever heard of a dry, adhesive strip that infuses ingredients right into your skin? How about a compound that you apply in a figure-eight motion? Not only do these products work, but they're also innovative, too! In the mix are treatments that target everything from aging to discoloration, and everything mentioned either smells delicious or feels extra luxurious to use. You might think that a blend of botanical extracts (centella asiatica, oat seed, walnut tree, rye, and sunflower oil) may not be strong enough to firm and smooth, but you would be wrong. (We were skeptical in the beginning, too.) Not only does it smell fresh and luxurious, but after using it for a few weeks, you can truly see firmer, smoother skin. One application tip: The instructions say to apply it like a figure eight around the breast area and up to the shoulders, which we did, because clearly Sisley knows best in matters such as this.
Sisley "Phyto-Buste + Décolleté" Firming Compound, $285, sisley-paris.com
Nannette de Gaspé
Yep, this is a mask for your breasts, but there isn't any water or serum on it—it's completely dry. All you do is put the adhesive strips inside of your bra ("infusers," they're called), and wear it for an hour. The fabric is a patented one that infuses the firming ingredient (sodium hyaluronate) and collagen-stimulating ingredient (marine collagen) straight into your skin. If you're looking to increase your bust size a bit, too, it pretty much does the trick—temporarily, of course.
Nannette de Gaspé "Uplift Revealed" Bust Infuser, $175, revolve.com
This product says it will act like "a natural bra," and we agree, especially because we thought we noticed a firming difference after the first application. Like the Sisley, it also smells amazing—it has that quintessential, nostalgic Clarins smell—and the instructions advise you to apply it in "light, circular motions from the base of the breast up to the chin." We also have noticed it helps prevent that annoying crease you get on your chest from sleeping on your side.
Clarins "Bust Beauty" Firming Lotion, $62, clarinsusa.com
Aside from the fact that we just like the name of this product, it's also really good. It's part of their Black Tea Age Defy line, which is a mix of black tea ferment, blackberry leaf extract, and lychee seed extract that helps neutralize free radicals (which cause premature aging), along with goji extract to help improve firmness.
Fresh "Firming Corset Cream" Face-and-Neck Formula, $95, fresh.com
If you have sun spots or just dull skin, start using this now. The main ingredient is maracuja, which is filled with vitamin C, helping to even skin tone and brighten. (If you've laid out at the beach one too many times, you might love this one.) Algae is also a hero ingredient, which works wonders to help renew skin.
