Meghan Markle's Newest Ring Has the Most Romantic Meaning
The Duchess debuted the sparkler at Trooping the Colour.
During her first public appearance since giving birth, royal fans were quick to notice that Meghan Markle was wearing a brand-new ring along with her engagement ring and wedding band. While some thought the sparkler was a push present from Prince Harry in honor of the birth of their son, Archie, a source told Us Weekly the ring was actually an anniversary gift.
The pavé-set ring is also known as an "eternity" ring, which features diamonds in a loop around the band. The sparkler is traditionally gifted after a milestone event, like a wedding anniversary or the birth of a child-both of which apply to the royal couple. The pair just celebrated their fist anniversary last month, on May 19th.
Not only did Trooping the Colour mark the debut of Markle's newest piece of jewelry, but it also marked the first time the new mom was away from her son. "She has spent almost every moment with him and saying goodbye was very difficult," the insider told the outlet. "But Meghan truly wanted to be at the celebration for the queen."
Since Markle and Prince Harry introduced Archie to the world, the two haven't said much about their new status as parents. However, a source told the outlet last month that Markle is loving being a mom and doting over her new baby. "[Meghan] has really taken to motherhood," the source said. "She's so soft and gentle with Archie." Markle echoed that sentiment just days after giving birth saying, "It's magic. It's pretty amazing. I have the best two guys in the world, so I'm really happy," adding that baby Archie "has the sweetest temperament. He's really calm. He's just been a dream."
