Tara Lipinski's Wedding Menu Will Make Your Mouth Water
Read up on the former athlete's big-day plans.
Former Olympic figure skater Tara Lipinski is getting closer and closer to her wedding to sports producer Todd Kapostasy. And the pair, who will wed in Charleston, South Carolina, this summer, have some truly hard-to-top plans for their big day.
Lipinski recently dished on her extensive nuptial menu, and let us just say, it sounds absolutely delicious. People reports that Cru Catering will handle all of the big-day food, and that the celebration will include appetizers, a seated dinner, and late-night treats. Highlights include two takes on fried chicken (fried chicken waffle cones with bacon-flavored sauce as apps and chicken and mini waffles at night), local fish for the main course, and boozy Kahlúa chocolate milkshakes for dessert, because yum. The drinks won't be too shabby either, with Kapostasy, an IPA fan, getting his wedding wishes fulfilled with flown-in brews, says People.
Other details include Jasmin Michelle Designs stationery. "We did a really pretty laser cut with lace over the actual light blue invitations," says the bride-to-be. "You can probably tell the theme here: Romance!" The artist "also did beautiful table cards on a silk panel with acrylic applicant and a table number written on the middle." The romantic vibe will continue with lanterns and arches, and the sport's commentators flower picks are seriously pretty. "I had a vision, because I love a very soft romantic palette, so lots of creams, light colors, touches of green with flowers," revealed Lipinski to People about her Jackson Durham Events arrangements, which will feature orchids and roses.
Of course, we'd be remiss to forget about the dress. The gold medalist admitted it took just "one fitting" to choose her gown. "I went with my maid of honor and my mom and I thought, 'I'm going to be doing this for years,' and that day I found it," she told E! News.
The couple recently hosted their Cabo bachelorette party, which served as a mixer for the bridesmaids and groomsmen. The traveling won't be stopping there, with the pair planning for a "long honeymoon." "We're going to the Maldives, Thailand, Vietnam, and then go back to Europe for a little bit," Lipinski told E! News. Lucky ducks indeed!
