Guess Who's Designing Emmy Rossum's Wedding Dress…
Hint: She's an icon in the industry.
After a 16-month engagement, Emmy Rossum is finally revealing some wedding details-namely, the designer of her wedding dress. The Shameless star, who got engaged to Sam Esmail, the creator of Mr. Robot, in August 2015, attended An Evening Honoring Carolina Herrera in New York City last night, where E! News asked her about her upcoming bridal look.
"You'll find out tonight," she said, then confirmed, "Yeah, she'll be making it. That's all I'll say!" Rossum was referring, of course, to the event's guest of honor, Carolina Herrera.
The Venezuelan designer unveiled her first bridal collection in 1987-a year after she created Caroline Kennedy's wedding dress. Since then, she has dressed celebrity brides including Olivia Palermo, Jessica Simpson, Amy Smart, Christina Hendricks, Renee Zellweger, and Tamera Mowry.
It only makes sense that Rossum will join these ranks: The actress stunned in a Carolina Herrera creation at the New York Botanical Garden's 2015 Conservatory Ball and attended Herrera's show during Fashion Week.
In an Instagram photo Rossum posted of her look for the NYBG Ball, she even referred to Herrera as her "fashion fairy godmother." "Look at how fabulous she is, like a fashion fairy godmother watching over to be sure the fit is perfect!" Rossum wrote. "She is kind, elegant, wickedly funny and I'm lucky to call Carolina my friend."
As for other details about the big day, we'll just have to wait! "I'm not even answering my family who asks me," Rossum told E!at a Verizon event a month after the engagement. "I know everything. I'm just not sharing it … I'm honestly just chilling and enjoying it for now."
Some time has passed since then, but wedding planning seems to be well under way. In July, some even speculated that Rossum and Esmail were already married-but the bride-to-be dispelled those rumors.
In a recent interview on Chelsea Handler's show, Rossum revealed how Esmail proposed. "I happened to be in the bathtub when it happened," she said. "And then I realized that it was happening. And then I got out of the bathtub because I didn't want the story to be that I was in the bathtub when it was happening. And then I got cold as it was still going on, got back in the bathtub. It was a comedy of errors, but it all worked out."
Here's hoping the rest of the wedding details work out just as well!
