Serena Williams Is Pregnant!
Serena Williams and fiancé Alexis Ohanian are expecting their first child! The tennis pro shared the happy news that she and Ohanian will be welcoming a baby this year on her Snapchat account, posting a photo of herself in a yellow one-piece swimsuit captioned "20 weeks." A rep for Williams confirmed the couple's happy news to TMZ. "I'm happy to confirm Serena is expecting a baby this fall."
Baby bump aside, it's been a busy few months for the couple, who announced their engagement on Reddit (Ohanian is the co-founder of the website!) in December. The pair put off wedding planning so Williams could focus on her busy tennis season, earning her 23rd Grand Slam title at the Australian Open in January.
In January, Williams told reporters that she would begin to consider wedding plans after her tennis tournament wrapped. "I haven't really thought about it too much because I wasn't even going to think about it until after the tournament," she said. "I just keep saying that February I'll start looking at the bigger picture of my life, but right now I'm just so focused that this is all I can think about." But since we now know Williams is five-months pregnant, we must wonder if she was holding off planning her big day to focus on motherhood first.
Williams and Ohanian are clearly enjoying life as both a newly-engaged and expecting couple. Just two days ago, Williams shared a smiling snap with her fiancé, writing, "My only regret is not pointing my toe sorry coach Garry." And just two days before that, the athlete shared an Instagram video on the tennis court, proving she must be feeling great.
There's no word on whether or not the couple will postpone any wedding plans until after their first child is born, but we're very excited at everything that's still to come for Williams and Ohanian in 2017.
