For many people, proposing can be a nerve-wracking experience. This was especially true for Justin Bieber. While the singer has remained tight lipped about his relationship with Hailey Baldwin, he told Ellen DeGeneres on the Ellen Show that his nerves almost got the best of him when he was down on one knee, asking his now-wife to marry him. His biggest concern, however, might surprise you.

According to Hollywood Life, Bieber said on the show: "I felt like in the past we had talked about me asking the question and I felt like she would say yes, so I wasn't really nervous about her saying yes," he said. "I think I was more nervous about am I going to make this commitment? Am I able to make this commitment as a man and be able to honor what I say?"

The singer went on to share that his commitment to loving his wife for better or for worse is his main priority in life. "I finally was like, I'm going to make the decision and follow through with it, be a husband, and this is what I've always wanted. I'm going to choose this woman and just do it."

The newlyweds tied the knot in front of 154 guests at a ceremony held in Palmetto Bluff, South Carolina, just one year after becoming legally married in a New York City courthouse. The September 2019 wedding was a religious affair—which is something Baldwin and Bieber wanted for their second nuptials. A source shared with People that Baldwin, "feels a civil ceremony and their 'real' wedding are two separate things." In addition, "what happened at the courthouse is a courthouse thing—a legal thing. But marriage is two people making a vow before God and the people they love."
