A Wine-Tasting Bachelorette Weekend in Napa for Eat.Sleep.Wear’s Kimberly Pesch
On her addictive blog, Eat.Sleep.Wear, Kimberly Pesch chronicles her daily outfits and provides sartorial inspiration to her 1.4 million followers. So it makes sense that the Los Angeles-based bride-to-be would jet off to Napa Valley for a stylish bachelorette party weekend. Though for this event, she kept her fan base teeny-tiny. “I wanted to keep it small and intimate,” she says of the four pals who made the trek with her. Not that there weren’t other friends begging to come along: “It’s funny because all of the fiancés and boyfriends were jealous of our little wine-tasting getaway!” she says. We can’t promise you won’t harbor a little envy of your own as you click though these pics.
A Trip to Remember
Kimberly may be all about fashion on her site, but her bachelorette weekend satisfied a different calling: “I have always been a total foodie, and Napa for me was about good wine and good food. I envisioned breakfast at our sunny Airbnb, lunch at the wineries, and then endless tastings between Sonoma and Napa.”
Kimberly chose the guest list carefully. “All of these friends actually have ties to Philadelphia, which is where I grew up, went to college, and worked,” she says. “All these girls are easygoing and people I could spend weeks on end with.”
Wine barrels on the property of their rental home set the scene for snaps. And, coincidentally, for an a.m. fitness session. “The first morning, the girls humored me and did my workout video with me outside,” Kimberly says. “It must have been hilarious to see five girls doing it outside in Napa.”
Clink and Drink
“I love the experience of sitting and sipping with friends,” Kimberly says. Mission. Accomplished.
The girls took a field trip to Domaine Carneros, where they enjoyed a table overlooking the vineyards, then settled into some cheese and charcuterie.
“When it comes to wine, I love reds, whites, and bubbles!” Kimberly says. Thankfully, Domaine Carneros has all three, but has won awards for their sparkling wines and pinot noir.
The group decided on a sampling of sparkling wines.
Kimberly’s friend Francesca, a bridesmaid, planned the entire wine-filled weekend. Fun back story: Francesca reintroduced Kimberly to her now-fiancé at her wedding six years ago!
“Napa is just one of those magic little places in the world,” Kimberly says. “So lush, green, and full of beauty.”
Dress the Part
We’re ashamed for not asking sooner: Where did you get that dress? “It’s Elizabeth and James, and it’s a great dressed-up version of a maxi,” she says. “I’ve been taking every advantage to wear white for any of my bridal-related events!”
“Most nights we would have a girls night out at a restaurant in Napa, but one night we went to a local cheese and wine shop in downtown Sonoma,” she says. “We picked up some local wines and cheese and stopped at Whole Foods for some fresh salads. We had the perfect alfresco dinner outside by our pool in a little vine-filled cabana. It’s those simple, small moments that mean the most to me.”
A Great Escape
Kimberly’s bachelorette party, though, was just the start to her upcoming wedding celebration on Maui. “I wanted the bachelorette to have that same getaway feel,” she says, “where everyone had to get out of town to another city, another lifestyle.”
