Morgan Manfredo and Adam Moody first locked eyes on their shared college campus—then fate (and mutual friends) brought them together at a Super Bowl party, after which they were inseparable. Fast forward a few years to a family vacation in Barbados: Adam asked if Morgan wanted to go watch the sunset on the beach, just the two of them. "That's when he got down on one knee and asked the question," says Morgan. "He had hired a photographer to capture the moment and he was hiding behind a skinny little tree. It was hilarious! I am so happy that the moment was captured. Every time I look at those photos, I get that exact feeling of when he got down on one knee. It's a feeling I'll never forget."

When it came time to choose a wedding venue, the pair picked Magna Golf Club for its patio's beauty and, more importantly, simplicity. "It gave us a blank slate to work with, with a killer view of the 18th hole," says Morgan. "We also wanted my family from New York to see the beautiful new area that I moved to."

As for the duo's joint vision? They dreamt of a garden-inspired celebration that was soft, green, and lush. "Ultimately, we wanted it to resemble a magical, whimsical garden." Pretty neutrals ruled the day, including beige, off-white, light green, dark green, gray, light blue, and a soft pink. "To be honest, the planning was a breeze," says Morgan. "But that was because of Shealyn Angus Weddings & Events. When we first met, I explained to her my vision, and within a week she had sent me a 10-page outline with everything from inspiration photos to day-of time slots. Shealyn and her team were extremely organized and efficient and caught on to my vision instantly."

The easiest part of the process? "Knowing what we had in mind in terms of the theme and wanting it to be garden-like and organic," says Morgan. "Also, the menu was pretty fun and easy to plan out, as well!"

A Floral Invitation Suite

Paper and Poste custom designed a soft and romantic flat-printed suite for Morgan and Adam, with a hand-illustrated floral motif on the invite. A watercolor map of the golf course with a pin to mark where the wedding would take place completed the collection. The dusty blue envelopes were closed with a wax seal that featured a custom monogram and laurel.

Ethereal Wedding Dress

Having followed Liz Martinez on social media for years, Morgan knew that she would someday don one of the designer's beautifully delicate wedding dresses when the time came. "We made a trip down to New York City, and at the chicest little boutique bridal shop, I tried on five Liz Martinez dresses. I picked the 'Sophia' gown," she says. "It was so special and a weekend I'll never forget." The fitted floral gown featured cap sleeves, an open back, and a light-as-air train.

Adam wore a timeless black tuxedo from Empire Customs in Toronto and accessorized with a bow tie, St. Andrews College cufflinks, and a watch that he, his father, and father-in-law all purchased in Barbados together. A ranunculus boutonnière completed the look.

The groomsmen wore black suits from Indochino. "As a group, they decided they wanted to make a day of it and go get fitted somewhere all together," says Morgan. "Indochino offered a lounge area where everyone could hang out while getting suited up."

A Memorable First Look

The bride was filled with butterflies before her first look with Adam. "Not the nervous kind—it was just a feeling of pure happiness," she says. When Adam turned around, the pair immediately embraced.

"To no one's surprise, Morgan looked simply unbelievable and it completely took my breath away," adds Adam. "There was a strict 'no talk' policy about Morgan's dress around me and let me tell you—it worked. I had no idea what to expect. It was just perfect."

In the Round

Morgan and Adam's ceremony took place in a courtyard surrounded by manicured hedges and a scenic view of the golf course. The structure in the center of the space featured four pillars of branches swathed in greenery and dotted with flowers, around which chairs were arranged in the round so guests could feel immersed in the service. Moss covered the bases of its pillars, offering an enchanted garden aesthetic.

A Special Officiant

As a special touch, the bride's father officiated the ceremony. "A legal officiant stood in place in the center of the ceremony space to start, then swapped places with my father as soon as he had walked me down the aisle," says Morgan. "Guests were all so surprised and touched. It made the ceremony so personal." The groom's father also had a special role: He stood in as his son's best man.

Onto the Patio

During the cocktail hour on the patio, chairs, couches, and tables draped in white-and-blue linens were arranged throughout the space; the duo's signature drinks were served. In the center of the patio, a bubbling fountain—full of floating floral arrangements—added an extra level of elegance to the space.

Into the Garden

A 12-foot-long crescent floral installation, designed to look like a garden, set the head table apart from the rest. Composed of tall, whimsical blooms (including white stock and delphiniums), the sprawling arrangement was accented with roses and trailing greenery. "The fireplace behind the head table echoed the whimsical garden sentiment, as did the hanging wrought-iron chandeliers overhead," says Morgan.

Airy Reception Tables

Swathed in airy linens and anchored with white floral arrangements, guest tables took center stage at the reception. "Wooden beaded chandeliers hung from the ceiling to accent the Louis-inspired chairs," explains Morgan. "Crystal vases were filled with botanical-inspired blooms, including garden roses, ranunculus, stock, hydrangea, and little pops of blue tweedia."

A Whimsical Cake

Credit: Will Reid Photography

The couple's beautiful three-tiered cake, designed by Truffle Cake & Pastry, featured delicate clusters of sugar flowers in blush, dusty blue, and taupe; blue sugar berries and soft gray foliage completed the dessert. "The fondant was mostly white but had a touch of watercolor blue, gray, taupe, and blush on the tiers, along with small wafer-paper flowers and touches of beading," says Morgan. "The design definitely had a soft and whimsical feel to it!"
