"Scandal" Actress Katie Lowes and Husband Adam Shapiro Are Expecting a Baby Boy
Big things are happening in Katie Lowes' life, on and off screen. On last night's episode of Scandal, the television actress donned a wedding dress as her alter ego, Quinn Perkins, preps for her big day, while in real life Lowes just confirmed she's expecting her first child.
For the Scandal devotees out there, it looks like Quinn's taste in wedding dresses is every bit as amazing as we'd expect from the Gladiator – and Lowes herself even took to Twitter to share a shot of one particularly pretty number, along with a little love for her on-screen "maid of honor," Huck. "Huck is the best maid of honor ever," Lowes wrote in the tweet. She also made a reference to the episode's wedding dress shopping adventure on her Instagram account with a graphic that read "The Adventures of Huckleberry Quinn" and "Chapter 26: Wedding Dress Shopping."
But let's not forget the other major source of excitement in Lowes' life. According to E! News, the star just confirmed on Jimmy Kimmel Live that she and husband Adam Shapiro are expecting, and that they already know the baby's sex. "It's a boy!" Lowes shared. "We have zero names." She did joke that Shapiro wants to call the baby Lebron after NBA star Lebron James, and admitted that Scandal creator Shonda Rhimes was one of the first to find out the big news.
"I told her five minutes from being pregnant," Lowes said, quipping that either it was "a really good weekend eating pizza and beer or I was pregnant," before adding, "She already knew-she's a genius. She knows the minute I got pregnant." Now, any guesses on whether the crew will hide Lowes's baby bump for Scandal's final season-or try to write it into the story? Either way, congratulations to the parents-to-be!
