Go Inside Meghan Trainor and Daryl Sabara's "Fairy-Tale" Wedding Ceremony and Reception
The couple tied the knot on the singer's birthday during an intimate backyard celebration.
Meghan Trainor and Daryl Sabara tied the knot on December 22 (the singer's birthday!) and are finally opening up about their small backyard affair's details. According to People, the couple married at their Los Angeles home surrounded by 100 of their closest family and friends.
As for one of the best parts about the couple's big day? Trainor's sparkly, off-the-shoulder Berta wedding dress, which she accessorized with a dramatic veil. In an interview with the outlet, she explained that she wanted a wedding dress that deviated from her on-stage style. "I didn't want to look like a glam pop star-I just looked like a really beautiful woman that I've always wanted to look like since I was my uncomfortable 13-year-old self," she said. To complete the outfit, the singer wore Badgley Mischka heels and Norman Silverman jewels.
To add a personal touch to the ceremony, Trainor and her father walked down the aisle to "Marry Me," a song she wrote with her now-husband. "My father started bawling as soon as he was done handing me off to Daryl," Trainor said. "That's when I almost lost it-it took all of me not to cry tears of joy because I wanted to look good for the pictures!" The sentimental touches didn't stop there, since the couple also chose to write their own vows. Though she has written numerous songs, Trainor was admittedly "really nervous" when it came time to write her promises. For help, she looked to YouTube: "I YouTubed 'How do you write vows?'" she said. "It was really helpful!"
The newlyweds' reception was filled with love, dancing, and music. As a surprise for Trainor, her new husband performed a choreographed dance to a medley of some of their favorite love songs including Chet Baker's "Someone to Watch Over Me," "Pop! Goes My Heart" from Music and Lyrics and "Suit & Tie" by Justin Timberlake-complete with backup dancers. Ultimately, Trainor said that being married to Sabara feels like a dream. "Every day feels like our first date," she explained. "He treats me like a queen. My life is like a fairy-tale."
