The Best Couples from the Golden Globes 2019 Red Carpet
See if your favorite A-listers stepped out for one of Hollywood's biggest nights.
There's just something we love about the Golden Globes. In a lot of ways, they serve as the perfect middle ground for the Hollywood awards show circuit: They laud the best of both a year in film and television with an easy levity. The fact that both big and small screen stars are included in the trophy line-up, however, might be the very best part—this often means that double the celebrities step out to celebrate their and their peers' accomplishments. Even better? The A-listers attending this event typically bring their all-time favorite dates.
While we're just as invested in following which nominated films, television series, actors, and actresses take home the awards as you are, watching our favorite couples interact on the red carpet offers a different type of thrill. It's so rare that these iconic duos (so many of them are so private!) step out in public—and it's even rarer to witness them freely talk about each other, their relationships, and their plans for the future in real-time.
As for the celebrity pairings we were most excited about this year? We loved watching co-host Andy Samberg take on the red carpet with his wife of five years, Joanna Newsom. It was also adorable to see John Krasinski support his wife of eight years, Emily Blunt, on her big night (the actress was nominated for her starring role in Mary Poppins Returns). Justin Hartley, a presenter for the evening, made an entrance with his wife of just over a year, Chrishell Stause Hartley. Engaged couples attended the event, too. Pairs like Idris Elba and fiancée Sabrina Dhowre and Gina Rodriguez and Joe Locicero turned the award show into their own date nights.

Andy Samberg & Joanna Newsom
Joanna Newsom stepped out to support her husband, Golden Globes co-host Andy Samberg. The couple, who's been married for five years, arrived wearing their red-carpet best: He chose a classic tuxedo while she wore a gown with a unique heart motif.
Justin Hartley & Chrishell Stause Hartley
Justin Hartley, a Golden Globes presenter, was joined by his wife, Chrishell Stause Hartley, who wore Romana Keveza, on the red carpet. The couple, who tied the knot in October 2017, recently celebrated their first year of marriage.
Emily Blunt & John Krasinski
Emily Blunt's biggest fan—her husband, John Krasinski—was the obvious choice to join her on the Golden Globes red carpet. Blunt is nominated for her role in Mary Poppins Returns (Krasinski admits to crying the first time he saw the film).
Amy Adams & Darren Le Gallo
Nominated for both her chilling performance in the HBO mini-series Sharp Objects and her role in Vice, double nominee Amy Adams walked the red carpet in an off-the-shoulder gown by Calvin Klein alongside husband Darren Le Gallo.
Rachel Brosnahan & Jason Ralph
Rachel Brosnahan, who's nominated for Best Actress in a Television Series, Musical or Comedy for her leading role in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, caught our attention on the red carpet for more than just her bright gown. She arrived with her rumored husband, actor Jason Ralph.
Yvonne Strahovski & Tim Loden
Yvonne Strahovski, wearing Alberta Ferretti Couture, was recognized for her performance in Hulu's The Handmaid's Tale, was escorted by her husband of two years, Tim Loden. The couple recently welcomed their first child (a son!); the actress was pregnant during the majority of the show's filming.
Idris Elba & Sabrina Dhowre
Idris Elba (another presenter this evening!) and fiancée Sabrina Dhowre are no strangers to high-profile red carpet moments. The couple actually became engaged during a film premier in February, after Elba proposed in front of a slew of fans.
Felicity Huffman & William H. Macy
Felicity Huffman and William H. Macy are award show veterans, but they always manage to make their evenings in the spotlight unique. Huffman chose a glittery gown for the evening, while her husband accessorized his big-night look with a pair of sunglasses.
Emmy Rossum & Sam Esmail
Talk about fairy-tale style! Emmy Rossum's blush pink ball gown by Monique Lhuillier was decidedly princess-inspired, but her best accessory was definitely her husband, director Sam Esmail.
Sterling K. Brown & Ryan Michelle Bathe
When Sterling K. Brown took home a Golden Globe for his work in This Is Us last year, wife Ryan Michelle Bathe was by his side. The duo made a tradition out of the high-profile date night by arriving together once again, this time in coordinating all-black ensembles.
Heidi Klum & Tom Kaulitz
Heidi Klum, who wore Monique Lhuillier, was joined on the red carpet by her brand-new fiancé, Tom Kaulitz. The supermodel announced her new relationship status on social media on Christmas Eve when she flashed her gemstone engagement ring.
Melissa McCarthy & Ben Falcone
As far as comedic couples go, Melissa McCarthy and Ben Falcone take the cake. McCarthy's celestial purple gown by Reem Acra felt particularly appropriate for one of Hollywood's biggest nights out.
Gina Rodriguez & Joe Locicero
We love seeing recently-engaged walk award show red carpets hand-in-hand—or, in Gina Rodriguez and Joe Locicero's case, arm-in-arm. The couple shared a quick kiss for the camera's before heading into the event.
Kaley Cuoco & Karl Cook
Married life looks good on Kaley Cuoco and Karl Cook. The duo, who tied the knot at Cook's family farm in July 2018, were all smiles during the Golden Globes pre-show.
Alison Brie & Dave Franco
Alison Brie, who's nominated for her role in the hit Netflix show, Glow, wore a statement-making lilac gown by Vera Wang to the 2019 Golden Globes. Her husband, Dave Franco, was her plus-one for the evening.
Bradley Cooper & Irina Shayk
Bradley Cooper was nominated in two categories for his film A Star Is Born: Best Director, Motion Picture and Best Actor in a Motion Picture, Drama. His longtime girlfriend, Irina Shayk, stunned by his side on the red carpet, wearing a gold gown. Cooper chose a white Gucci tux for the evening.
Keri Russell & Matthew Rhys
Matthew Rhys and Keri Russell are both nominated for their work on The Americans; the couple's love story actually kicked off when they began filming the show (they also play husband and wife!). For the big event, Russell chose a beaded Monique Lhuillier gown.
Dax Shepard & Kristen Bell
It's been a festive week for longtime couple Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard. The married duo celebrated the actress' birthday a few days before the 2019 Golden Globe Awards.
Nicole Kidman & Keith Urban
Nominee Nicole Kidman (she received a nod for Best Actress for The Destroyer) stunned in a form-fitting burgundy Michael Kors gown while attending the Golden Globes. Her husband, Keith Urban, kept things traditional in a classic black tuxedo.
