25 Beautiful Dresses to Wear as a Wedding Guest This Winter
Summer and fall may be the most popular seasons to get married, but that doesn't mean that weddings aren't happening in the winter and spring, too. If you've been invited to a wedding taking place in December, January, February, or early March, you're probably wondering what to wear. While floral maxis and your favorite LBD are appropriate during the warmer months, you'll need something more seasonal for a winter wedding. That's where we come in: We found 25 beautiful dresses that winter wedding guests should consider ordering right now.
What makes a dress appropriate for a winter ceremony and reception? First, we thought about length. When the temperatures really dip, you'll want something warm and covering, which is why we set out to find a number of chic gowns perfect for cold-weather nuptials. If you'd prefer a cocktail-length dress, you're still in luck. We found a number of those that work during the coldest months of the year. The trick is to look for something with long sleeves or that comes in a rich fabric or color. That means that a short dress in a color like burgundy, green, or dark blue is still entirely acceptable guest fashion during the winter.
And if you like lighter colors, you'll be pleased to know that lighter hues have their place during the winter, too. Metallics, like silver and champagne, are celebratory and fun at any time of year, and hues like pale pink and baby blue can work if you choose the right length and fabric, or when they're paired with the right seasonal accessories.
Instead of aimlessly wandering around your favorite department store, consider this your go-to fashion guide for winter wedding attire. We did all the hard work for you.
