Drake Bell Isn't Bitter About Josh Peck's Wedding Snub
But that doesn't mean that the drama has ceased.
Toward the end of June, sitcom Drake & Josh resurfaced, as former co-stars Drake Bell and Josh Peck got involved in some wedding drama. Peck, who recently got married to Paige O'Brien, didn't invite his thought-to-be-bestie to his nuptial celebration. While fans of the on-screen brothers were up in arms over the apparent snub, Bell now says that despite deleted tweets, everything's good between him and his "brotha."
"There are no hard feelings," Bell told People. As for the tweets he's since removed, expressing sadness about not getting invited? "I was caught off guard. I hadn't heard anything about it," he shared. Despite the fact that the actor wasn't aware of the wedding even happening, Bell said that he and Peck really are close friends. "He's been my best friend for 18 years," Bell said. "In all honesty, we talk all the time, we've been talking."
Bell was also taken aback by all the attention the drama received. "That was a shock," he shared. "I didn't think it would be that big of a deal. I did not realize that it was going to have such a viral effect." That it did, and no, it's not over. There's something else the media's now swirling about. John Stamos, Peck's co-star on Grandfathered, did receive an invite to the wedding. Not only that, but the Fuller House actor seems to have thrown some shade at Bell.
"I got invited to the wedding and I didn't even want to go," Stamos joked on Instagram. Some are taking it as a reference to Bell, which fans of Drake & Josh aren't happy about. Stamos also posted a congratulatory Instagram, celebrating Peck and his new bride. "Only thing more beautiful than the wedding was the bride and groom. Time to make me an uncle! Congrats, I love you both dearly. XO," he wrote.
Regardless, Bell wants nothing less than for fans of him and Peck to take sides. "That's my bro you know?" he said. "It's kind of one of those things were you're fighting with him on the playground, but if someone else says something, you're like-'Hey, I can say that but you can't!'" he told People. He also expressed interest in a Drake & Josh reunion-would this not be the best pilot plot?
