Country Star Maren Morris Is Engaged to Ryan Hurd
Wedding bells are in the air for country star and Grammy winner Maren Morris! The "My Church" singer just got engaged to her singer/songwriter boyfriend Ryan Hurd, and the two took to Instagram to share the big news-and a glimpse at Morris's gorgeous engagement ring.
Morris shared an Instagram gallery featuring three different photos of the couple. The first shows the star sitting on Hurd's lap and holding a beer in a direct nod to Hurd's current single "Love in a Bar." The songwriter previously told People the tune is "very much an autobiographical song about my relationship with Maren."
"I met Maren writing songs and I met her when I was starting to have success," Hurd added. "We wrote 'Last Turn Home,' that Time McGraw recorded, and we would write and then after we'd go over to a bar in midtown and have a couple beers. That's when we started making a real connection, beyond a creative partnership." The other detail visible in Morris's snap? Her sparkling new accessory. The other photos in the gallery show the couple gazing adoringly at each other, and one more close-up of that beautiful ring. Morris simply captioned the gallery with the word, "Yes," and an engagement ring emoji.
But the country star wasn't the only one to take to social media with an announcement, although Hurd's post was a little more cryptic. Instead of a ring, his latest photo features the couple headed out onto a lake via boat, and the caption reads, "7/3/17." E! News was able to confirm the date as the day Hurd popped the question.
In any case, 2017 has been a pretty great year for Morris, who beat out country veterans like Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban to take home the Grammy for Best Country Solo Performance in February-and now it looks like it's set to only get better! Congratulations to the happy couple!
