Their Story

It isn't every day that a simple hello spurs a lifelong conversation, but that's what happened for this couple. The two were introduced at a birthday party. "From the moment we met, Jayme was so easy to talk to," says Chris. "We have similar opinions about art and design, so we hit it off right away." Jayme, an art director at Martha Stewart Weddings, made such an impression on Chris that the next day, "I called my friends and family to tell them about her," he recalls. Three years later, the conversation that had started out so casually turned to amore meaningful topic: marriage. And moments after Jayme accepted Chris's heartfelt proposal, he was back on the phone once again -- this time, to share the big news.

The Wedding Location

"The couple decided to marry close to Jayme's hometown of Hanover, Pennsylvania. On a day trip to scout locations, they fell in love with the first place they visited: Lauxmont Farms, a 1,400-acre working organic farm perched atop the Susquehanna River in Wrightsville, Pennsylvania. The sprawling property boasts a sunken poolside patio for exchanging vows and a domed rotunda for the reception. Jayme was immediately drawn to the rotunda's striped ceiling, which inspired the wedding's aqua-striped theme.

The Invitations

The invitations, which Jayme bound and designed herself, were a series of miniature books -- A Wedding Celebration, Area Highlights, and Travel Guide -- encased in a linen pouch. Program information was printed on perforated business-card stock. Jayme designed and printed save-the-dates in a letterpress class and tucked them into sleeves with artfully punched holes. Invitation envelopes were calligraphed in blue, and the couple's wedding date was printed on the inner flap.

The Menu

The unique menu reflects the couple's first year of dating, during which time they never went to the same restaurant twice. "We wanted our guests to try a little bit of everything," explains Jayme.
