How Prince Harry Celebrated Valentine's Day—Despite Being Miles Away From Meghan Markle
The Duke of Sussex was surprised by candles, music, and his wedding portrait while traveling abroad in Norway.
Due to royal obligations, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle spent their first Valentine's Day as a married couple apart-Harry, however, still managed to celebrate his wife. During the Duke of Sussex's tour of Norway (he was on official duty as the Captain General of the Royal Marines), he was taken inside a small shelter, where he was surprised with a thoughtful display of wedding pictures, candles, and music.
According to E! News, Harry joked, "You weirdos," upon seeing the decorations. He continued, "It's very kind of you to invite me into your private shrine or whatever you want to call it. And the music, is that part of it? Romantic isn't it."
We have a feeling Meghan Markle is missing her husband today-according to Vanity Fair, this is the first Valentine's Day the couple has spent apart since the beginning of their relationship. An insider told the outlet, however, that the Duke will be home to share a holiday meal with his wife. Markle reportedly took the day off from her own royal duties to prepare a romantic meal for her husband-she's an excellent cook, after all.
Harry's trip to Norway will likely mark one of last visits abroad-Markle is approaching her due date, which will fall sometime in late April. Buckingham Palace confirmed the timeframe by releasing a statement via Twitter that read, "Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019."
