Ian Somerhalder Broke His Month of Silence to Praise Wife (and New Mom) Nikki Reed
Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed welcomed their first child, daughter Bodhi Soleil, on August 10, 2017. Prior to her birth, the pair vowed that they'd take a month of silence when the baby arrived. Fast-forward to now, just 12 days in, and Somerhalder's already broken his commitment. But don't worry, his reason is totally valid-Somerhalder just had to gush about his wife and new co-parent.
In the latest issue of Fit Pregnancy and Baby, Reed revealed the couple's plan. "We'll take the baby's first month for ourselves," she shared. "After the baby arrives, we're doing one month of silence. Just the three of us, no visitors, and we're turning off our phones too, so there's no expectation for us to communicate. You don't get those first 30 days back and we want to be fully present."
But Somerhalder couldn't wait to praise his spouse, so he signed on to Instagram to post a sweet message and a few photos from Reed's shoot with Fit Pregnancy and Baby. "Just a quick note to you my beautiful wife. You are briefly napping on the other side of the room after being an amazing mom all night so you'll read this when you wake... seeing these images reminds me of those amazing 9 months that you sacrificed your whole being to grow our little one," he wrote. "The kindness, the beauty and organic nature of these photos makes me so very proud. You brought such fun and such power into our lives being pregnant but you literally brought the word sexy into pregnancy, we all see it. Thank you for being my partner in this life and thank you for inspiring not just me but all others who read, hear or see what your soul gives us." We're not crying, you are.
While you shouldn't expect to hear much from either of the new parents for the next few weeks, we think this one will hold you over.
