/*-->*//*-->*//*-->*//*-->*//*-->*//*-->*//*-->*//*-->*/If you're planning a bohemian wedding in a garden or at a vineyard, you might want to consider wearing a Claire Pettibone wedding dress. Known for her sweet, feminine, and graceful collections, it is no surprise that the California native studied art and ballet as child before beginning her career in fashion. Originally a lingerie designer, Pettibone brings a whimsical use of color, dainty lace, and embroidery to each and every one of her wedding dresses. The result? Vintage-inspired, ethereal gowns that are fresh and entirely unique.
We're not the only ones who think so. Actress Nikki Reed married Ian Somerhalder in a custom Claire Pettibone lace trumpet wedding dress, with illusion three-quarter sleeves, and a semi-sheer skirt. In 2012, Priscilla Chan, Mark Zuckerberg's bride, said "I do" in the "Sky Between the Branches" dress, which featured laser-cut floral embroidery, an illusion jeweled neckline, and a chapel-length train. Both brides looked gorgeous.
As for the designer's newest work? Titled Vagabond, the Pettibone's Fall 2018 wedding dress collection was inspired by travel. "North, South, East and West, wanderlust has taken hold," explained Pettibone. "Whether we travel from place to place on holiday, as life demands, or in the virtual world, the idea of exploring will always hold a certain romance." With nine new looks, the designer's latest bridal collection is unexpected, but exciting. One of our favorite looks is a trumpet wedding dress with draped sleeves, a sheer skirt, and smoky gray embroidery that is especially daring. "Perfect for a wedding adventure," said the designer.
