Joe Manganiello Reveals the "Biggest Adjustment" He Faced After Marrying Sofia Vergara
As it turns out, getting married really wasn't that tough.
It's been two years since Joe Manganiello and Sofia Vergara tied the knot and they couple has been vocal about the beauty of marriage ever since. The former True Blood star opened up about life with the Modern Family actress and their relationship in his cover interview for Cigar Aficionado, and he explained what he found to be the "biggest adjustment" to married life.
As it turns out, it wasn't much of an adjustment at all. "[It's] coming to grips with the idea that someone who is not related to you could possibly love you that much. She was it for me," he explained. "People say things like, 'Marriage and relationships are work.' But it's not. Life is hard. Having somebody to help you deal with it is the greatest thing that ever happened. Looking back on the relationships I had before this, I think the universe was giving me some tough practice, so I'd get this right."
The Rampage actor met Vergara in 2014 several months after she'd ended a longtime engagement. Manganiello wasn't kidding when he explained that Vergara was simply "it" for him-he got down on one knee on Christmas Day just a few months later. The duo married nearly one year later in a lavish, star-studded ceremony in Palm Beach, Florida.
Apparently, Manganiello wanted to keep the details of their wedding private, but Vergara knew that she wanted to share the big day with the world. "I convinced Joe," she told Hola! USA in 2017. "Because this is a really special time for us in our relationship, and we enjoy our privacy, but we have the best fans in the world and we know it makes them happy to see us happy and in love."
