Matthew McConaughey Opens Up About His Marriage to Camila Alves, Says He's "Under Her Spell"
After being married for four years, it's hard to imagine that Matthew McConaughey was once a single bachelor in Hollywood. But now, the actor is so far past that period of his life. "I had a time in my life when I was fine going from here to there, bam-bam-bam-healthy, fluent, single years," he told Playboy. McConaughey opened up to the magazine about his marriage to Camila Alves, and how she changed his life.
"When I saw the woman who is now my wife, I was at a club making margaritas at a table with friends," he said. "When she walked in wearing this aqua dress, I went, 'Whoa, what is that?' I didn't say, 'Who is that?' Grace, identity, constitution, beauty-where's that from? What is that? As soon as she caught my eye, a little voice goes in my head: 'This is not the kind of woman you call across the room. Boy, get your ass out of that chair.'"
"You can't dial up that kind of woman," he continued. "I have been very faithful to my wife, very selfishly. I like being under her spell. I don't want to break that spell."
Five years after meeting Alves in 2006, he proposed during Christmas 2011. Since getting married in June 2012, the couple has three children: Levi, Vida, and Livingston.
