These two get stronger and stronger with each anniversary.
Barack Obama and Michelle Obama Wedding Day

Barack and Michelle Obama have officially been married for a quarter of a century! To celebrate the big anniversary, the former First Lady shared an Instagram photo of the couple on their wedding day in 1992. She also posted the sweetest message to her husband and "best friend."

"Happy 25th anniversary @barackobama," she wrote. "A quarter of a century later, you're still my best friend & the most extraordinary man I know. I [heart] you." While a 25th anniversary is a milestone all on its own, there's something particularly unique about this one: it's the first the couple has celebrated post-presidency. After so many changes-including moving out of the White House, traveling the world, and sending their daughter, Malia, off to college-it's nice to see that these two are stronger than ever.

But, of course, the Obamas have never missed a beat, and have always been there to support each other. "Michelle LaVaughn Robinson, girl of the Southside. For the past 25 years you've been not only my wife and mother of my children, but you've been my best friend," Obama said in his farewell address in January. Looks like these two agree on the "best friends" dynamic!

Barack and Michelle Obama met in 1989 and tied the knot three years later at the Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago. Today, with 25 years of experience behind them, the former first couple are the ultimate source of marriage advice. Their relationship maxim? Never give up. "Marriage is hard work. Even the best of marriages require a lot of work-even if you're married to your soulmate who has very few flaws," Mrs. Obama told Good Housekeeping in 2010. "Don't give up on it. Just understand that you're going along the path that everybody else goes on. Go in ready for the work."
