A Modern Tent Wedding in Newport, Rhode Island
Molly and Thomas
On May 31, 2008, Molly Cangemi stepped out for a drink with a friend at a club in London, where the Baltimore native had lived for two years. When a group of good-looking Swedes walked in just back from a Springsteen concert, she zeroed in on Thomas Rådberg and stuck out her hand. "She had my attention,” said Thomas, a Stockholmer, investment banker, and U.K. transplant. "The next thing we knew, it was 3 A.M., and they were turning the lights on,” Molly said.
In June 2011, Thomas proposed during a holiday in the swedish town of Tylösand, and fifteen months later, they crossed the pond for a three-night bash in Newport, Rhode Island.
"Our setting needed to have an element of water," says Molly. The Gray Craig estate, which actor Nicholas Cage once called home, fit the bill—and then some.
Molly and Thomas used as much of Gray Craig's grounds as possible during their three-day bash. Photographer Jonathan Canlas used an expanse of lawn to showcase the bride's dramatic toile veil.
The “something borrowed” was a swarovski crystal brooch, a family heirloom of one of the bridesmaids, which played up the accents on Molly's custom gown.
Molly's Manolo Blahnik "Hangisi" jewel satin pumps were custom made in an elegant pale green.
Suits You Fine
Attached to each of the groomsmen’s lapels was a unique work of miniature plant art.

The Bridal Path
A charming stone archway in the watering gardens served as a natural entrance for the procession.
Attendees sat on fruitwood benches as Molly and Thomas said "I do."
American, Italian, Irish, and Swedish flags fluttered brightly above the white reception tent. "It was a fun way to bring it back to who we are and where we come from," says Molly. The Union Jack represented their adopted home of England.
A pairing of white washed farm tables with clear mirage chairs was one of three table tableaus in the dining space.
Lights, wooden branches, and orchids twinkled above the head table.
The Table Numbers
Lucite signs used tube-stop names from the couple's adopted city of London.
Touch of Glass
Votives and reclaimed vases played starring roles. "Sometimes the color was achieved through the vessel rather than the flower," says Molly.
