Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost Are Engaged!
The couple has been dating for two years.
After two years of dating, Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost are officially engaged! The actress' publicist, Marcel Pariseau, officially confirmed the news to the Associated Press on Sunday-her rep also noted that no wedding date has been set. The couple's engagement comes just two months after a source told People that Jost and Johansson have been talking about marriage.
As for the duo's relationship history? The private pair made their public debut in November 2017 and then appeared together on Saturday Night Live the following month. Shortly after, Jost and Johansson met each other's families, which is when the comedian spent time with the actress' four-year-old daughter, Rose. "Scarlett and Colin are in love and share many of the same interests and the same sense of humor," another source told People. "Scarlett is very happy." The couple likely crossed paths for the first time, however, long before they began dating; Johansson taped an episode of the sketch comedy show in 2006, the same year Jost joined the team as a writer.
This engagement marks Johansson's third marriage-the starlet finalized her divorce from journalist Romain Dauriac in September 2017 and was previously married to Ryan Reynolds-while this will be Jost's first time down the aisle. The publication's source also commented that Johansson feels differently about the SNL castmember compared to her past love interests: "She is a mother and in a mature place where marriage makes more sense than it did in earlier relationships that didn't last." Although the Avengers star is "aware of how hard" marriage is these days, she is "in love and likes to be married."
