Bride and groom aren't the only eye candy in the best social-media wedding snaps. Great backdrops-dramatic art, stunning nature, even oddball antiques-count, too. Here, a few ultra-contemporary wedding venues that will inspire you and your Instagram followers.

Mass MoCA, North Adams, Massachusetts

Bold backdrops abound at this contemporary-art museum, above, which is housed in a sprawling complex of 19th-century brick mill buildings in the Berkshires. The 16-acre campus can accommodate a wide range of weddings, from small gallery gatherings to 500-guest fêtes. Say "I do" beneath a dreamy long-term light installation modeled after the Milky Way in the newly completed Building 6 event space, then celebrate among larger-than-life sculptures. Or for a major pop of color, rent the three-story Sol LeWitt Galleries installation, which brims with bright geometric wall drawings.

Architecture buffs will swoon over this Coachella Valley enclave, a boutique hotel–vacation rental hybrid. Inside the four on-site suites (called "Living Units"), you'll feel like an extra on a Mad Men set when you see the mod chairs and low-slung sofas, angular walls and windows, and glossy redwood paneling. Weddings of up to 350 can congregate on The Park, an adjacent faux-turf lawn framed by a white latticed block wall and the looming San Jacinto Mountains. Mingle amid spiky succulent gardens-and in wintertime, linger around open-air fire pits.

Hundreds of salvaged casino signs lend a vintage charm to nuptials at this whimsical outdoor space. For standing ceremonies of 50 or fewer, opt for a pre-sunset service in the intimate North Gallery, where a heart-shaped "Lady Luck" sign sets the stage for cute couples' shots. Or revel with up to 200 guests beneath the desert sky in the Main Collection, home to a hodgepodge of fully restored illuminated signs and rainbow-hued uplit LED lighting. For lots of likes, selfie alongside artifacts like the giant four-leaf clover, or the lightbulb-studded horseshoe.

Startling desert scenery meets intriguing design at this 21-acre compound on the outskirts of a bohemian town. A village of well-appointed tepees, traditional yurts, and Elvis-era travel trailers not only enables guests to stay on-site, but also begs for shareable snapshots. Tie the knot beneath a rustic steel altar or a large wooden pavilion, then host a reception for up to 200 under the stars. Before dark, schedule a quirky photo session around the grounds, from the metal eye sculpture suspended above the entrance gates to a "grove" of hammocks perfect for bridal-party poses.

No two soirées look the same at this eclectic emporium, where an ever-changing inventory of antique furniture and oddities (think vintage carnival rides and 10-foot-tall birdcages) doubles as photo props. Even the building is a relic: The former naval-repair warehouse features towering columns and timbered ceilings, with space for 60 seated guests. Swap vows before an 18th-century European mantelpiece framed by Gothic crosses, gather at tables with centerpieces from the showroom, and get cozy in leather seats arranged in impromptu lounges.

Wrapped in a candy-colored graffiti mural, this warehouse turned event venue and art gallery will have guests posting portraits before they even enter the building. A customizable marquee displays the happy couple's names in lights, while a sleek cement interior imparts an industrial vibe to ceremonies and receptions for up to 300 seated guests (or 550 standing). You'll have your pick of photo ops amid the kaleidoscope of artwork adorning the walls, but don't forget to sneak outside for a shot on the turquoise staircase that scales one corner of the structure.
