Jessica Chastain & Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo Are Married!
It's official: Jessica Chastain and her Italian boyfriend Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo are married! People reports that the pair tied the knot at Passi de Preposulo's family estate in Treviso, Italy, about an hour north of Venice, after five years of dating. If that's not the makings of a romantic celebration, we don't know what is.
While guests, including Anne Hathaway and husband Adam Shulman, Emily Blunt, Chastain's Zero Dark Thirty co-star Edgar Ramirez, and Italian socialite Bianca Brandolini D'adda, began arriving in Italy as early as Wednesday, the festivities officially kicked off on Friday when family members from both sides of the aisle went on a site-seeing tour of the city. Later that evening, everyone gathered for a pre-wedding party.
And it gets even better from there. The couple's ceremony and reception took place in the Passi de Preposulo family estate, which dates back to the 17th century. It's described as a "palace-like estate," complete with requisite Italian-style gardens with stunning fountains and statues. There's no word on where the nuptials took place on the sprawling property, but we do know it was beautiful.
"The wedding was stunning," a source told E! News. "Jessica's dress was perfect and you could tell she was very nervous walking down the aisle. The food was delicious." The source also added that while the groom's side of the aisle was largely made up of family members, the bride's half of the guests list included many close friends.
Friends of the couple say they always expected Chastain and Passi de Preposulo to marry in Italy. After all, the groom is a real-life count (no, Chastain isn't a countess, People reports, because the Italian aristocracy ended in 1946), and the pair has always discussed Italy as the backdrop for their wedding. "Italy was a place where they always wanted to get married," another source told E! News.
It sounds like this happy pair got everything they wanted and more from their wedding day.
