Entertainment Tonight reports that Skinner popped the question on his bride-to-be's birthday, when he got down on one knee in front of her rescue horse, King. To commemorate the moment, the 2 Broke Girls creator shared a video to her Instagram account, which recounts her hilarious reaction to the proposal. The clip proves that Cummings clearly did not see this major life step coming. Her fiancé captured her saying that she would have gotten a manicure had she known his intentions. After attempting to remove all of the other rings on her left hand (she wanted a blank canvas to properly show her engagement ring off!) and wiping away happy tears, she concludes by questioning the reality of the moment. HOW TO ANNOUNCE YOUR ENGAGEMENT ON INSTAGRAM LIKE A CELEBRITY Cummings and Skinner have always kept their romance relatively private. The comedian-she was also an executive producer and co-showrunner on the Roseanne reboot-told Conan O'Brien that she prefers to keep her professional and personal lives separate. So separate, in fact, that she has refused Skinner from watching any of her stand-up routines. Swept away in the moment, though, Cummings revealed the story of how the couple met in the engagement announcement video's comical caption: "Today I got engaged. I handled it great! This just goes to show that if you work on yourself, trust your gut, and keep your ego in check you too can find love on a dating app." The video wasn't the only funny proposal post Cummings shared. When captioning an image of Skinner physically getting down on one knee, she joked that her horse just wanted to eat the "carats," alongside a diamond ring emoji. Was this page helpful?
