Each week, Darcy Miller, the editorial director of Martha Stewart Weddings, will spotlight a few of her favorite things in the wedding world right now.
I'm someone who is always on the hunt for new party décor, so it's an understatement to say that I love Oh Happy Day. The design and lifestyle site features original DIY projects and amazing party ideas, and now, they just launched an e-commerce site where you can buy all of the incredible finds they feature. It's the perfect one-stop-shop for all of your bridal shower, bachelorette party, and even wedding-day party needs. Here's just a glimpse at some of the fun metallic items they offer.
I love when industry friends work to make a difference! Case in point: My friend Paige Chenault is the founder of The Birthday Party Project, a charity that helps bring joy to homeless children through the magic of birthdays. Every month, they throw themed parties that feature fun activities, crafts, games, and, of course, cupcakes for the kids! Paige recently invited me to celebrate the opening of the New York chapter at an amazing party planned by event designer Ed Libby. So, take a break from wedding planning and do some good by volunteering to help at an event being held in your area or by donating money and party supplies.
It wasn't just the beautiful wedding dresses that caught my eye at Lela Rose's presentation at Bridal Fashion Week—the décor did, too. She used two popular (and chic) wedding themes to style the event: a black-and-white color scheme and statement-making florals.
