"Gilmore Girls" Actor Sean Gunn Is Married to Natasha Halevi
The couple tied the knot on Catalina Island in California nearly a month ago.
Congratulations are in order for former Gilmore Girls star Sean Gunn. The actor married his longtime girlfriend, actress Natasha Halevi, last month, reports People-and their star-studded event, attended by several members of the Gilmore Girls family (Amy Sherman-Palladino and Keiko Agena, included!), was about as unique as it gets.
As for their ceremony's theme? The couple describe their oceanfront service, which was officiated by the groom's brother, director James Gunn, as a "wedding picnic." Guests sat on colorful blankets imported from Kenya and snacked on cheese and rosé as they watched the duo-dressed in casual ensembles (a two-piece crop top and skirt by Kyah for the bride and a white linen and silk pinstripe suit for the groom)-exchange personal vows.
"We really wanted to break the wedding rules so everyone would have space to have fun and be themselves," the bride told the outlet of their overall vision. That's why their dress code ("1920s disco ball goes to the beach!") was so open-ended, notes Halevi: "[This] basically meant: be fun, be fabulous, be colorful, be shiny, be awesome. We wanted to get rid of the fear of outshining anyone-and our friends definitely brought it!"
Following their unique ceremony, the newlyweds and their guests joined a joyful New Orleans-style second line, which led the way to their reception held at the iconic Catalina Casino, an Art Deco-style venue (which fit right into their fun theme!). "Ultimately, encouraging our loved ones to be creative is what made it feel so joyful for us," says Gunn. "I try not to use the word 'perfect' too often, but damn if it wasn't really close."
