How to Pack for an Active Honeymoon
HBFit gives us the rundown on how to stay fit—and be prepared—on your honeymoon.
Staying fit while on your honeymoon is something many people deem unimaginable, but for you, it's an extension of a lifestyle you don't want to give up. Instead of throwing in the towel, why not bring the towel with you on your trip?
Just because you're changing locales for a little while, doesn't mean you have to give up your fitness routine-it may just need a little adjusting. Here are five things to keep in mind when you're packing for a fit vacation.
Consider the climate.
If you're headed somewhere hot, be sure to pack a sports bra that can withstand moisture, such as this high-performance one by ZOOT SPORTS. If you're headed to colder weather but still want to keep active outdoors, consider a running headband to keep your ears warm, like the Turtle Fur fleece headband. No matter where you're going, keep the weather in mind when you're determining your fitness activities.
Match your exercise gear to some local activities.
Do your research and discover what kind of outdoor activities you can try out while on your honeymoon. Heading somewhere warm where you might be near a pool or the ocean? Be sure to get yourself an active (but cute!) swimsuit like this Speedo one piece. If, on the other hand, you're headed somewhere where you might be able sneak in some outdoor exploration, pack a flexible H20 case like the Ultimate Direction Body Bottle that can easily accompany you on your hikes (and in your carry on).
Bring your routine items.
In order to keep yourself as connected as you can to your exercise routine back home, be sure to bring your routine, necessity items. Pack your favorite jogging pants, top and shoes to keep you in the groove. To mix things up, bring along a fun gadget like the Pivotal Living fitness tracker to help you measure your success while you're away.
Pack the jogging necessities.
Whatever you do, don't skimp out on your most comfortable outdoor running shoes if you plan to get a few runs in on your honeymoon. If you can't seem to make them squeeze into your suitcase, wear them on the plane! Plus, running is the easiest thing to get up and do, no matter where you are, so always be prepared.
Travel light and improvise.
You can't possibly travel with all your usual workout gear, so leave the big bulky things like your yoga mat at home and improvise with a yoga towel like this one by Susama. It works perfectly for beach yoga and can double for a towel if a bout of rain drenches you on a hike. Alternatively, look up some classes at your final destination that provide the equipment necessary for your next sweat sesh. Even better, look for outdoor classes where you'll be able to use the fresh grass as your mat.
Now that you've done your research, bundled your gear together and packed your suitcase, you can sit back and relax. Your honeymoon will bring you the exciting adventures of a new world without forcing you to leave the best of the old behind.
