Taylor Swift's Maid-of-Honor Speech Was Really Good (Obviously)
In her most recent interview with Vogue, Taylor Swift opens up about growing up on a Christmas-tree farm, her childhood friendship with Britany Maack, for whom she recently served as the "happiest maid of honor ever," and her MOH speech that basically reads like another chart-topping hit.
During the wedding, the bride and groom enforced a strict no-phones policy. "All of our guests were present," Maack told Vogue. "I truly attribute this to everyone unplugging from distractions and enjoying the moment." Unfortunately for us, this means no home videos of Swift's spur-of-the-moment performance of "Shake It Off" or videos of her speech, but don't worry: We have some great snippets for you. As kids, "Britany was the physical one, and [Swift] was the verbal one," Vogue reports. "Essentially what you had were these two babies who each made up for what the other lacked," Swift said. "One couldn't really walk. One couldn't really talk. And interestingly enough, we assume those exact personas to this day when we are drunk ... give us an hour."
Swift went on to talk about the love she sees between her two childhood friends: "Real love doesn't mess with your head. Real love just is. Real love just endures. Real love maintains. Real love takes it page by page." Taylor, we have a great name for your next hit ...
Of course, all this marriage talk brings up the obvious question: Does Swift see a wedding in her own future? "I'm just taking things as they come," she said. "I'm in a magical relationship right now [with DJ Calvin Harris]. And of course I want it to be ours, and low-key ... this is the one thing that's been mine about my personal life." With all due respect to the power couple's privacy, Swift and Harris's social documentation of their recent romantic vacation has us wondering where the relationship is going to go next. Until then, we'll all be following along with their love story.
