Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Might Skip Part of Princess Eugenie's Wedding
They aren't the only royals missing out, either.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are definitely attending Princess Eugenie's wedding-they just might not attend all of it. We know that the couple is returning to their own ceremony venue, St. George's Chapel, to watch the bride and groom tie the knot. However, they could skip a later part of the festivities, reports People.
As we previously explained, Eugenie's celebration will extend a day longer than her cousin Harry's. On Friday, she's scheduled a classic ceremony plus the standard lunch and evening receptions. But it doesn't end there. The couple plans to keep the party going into Saturday, when they'll host a festival-themed get-together. This is where things get tricky for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. The newlyweds are kicking off a major tour next week covering Australia, Fiji, Tonga, and New Zealand, which requires major travel. Their impending journey could make it hard for them to make the entirety of Eugenie's event.
Harry and Meghan aren't the only royals skipping parties, either. Duchess Camilla won't be at any of the festivities due to engagements she booked prior to the wedding's announcement. Prince Philip's attendance is also questionable due to tensions between him and Eugenie's mother, Sarah Ferguson. That being said, anything is possible. "He does what he wants," an insider told People. "I think he will decide at the 99th hour."
Regardless, Eugenie and Jack will be surrounded by plenty of loved ones. Around 850 guests are expected to be present when the two exchange their vows. Those include Prince George and Princess Charlotte, who will be serving as page boy and bridesmaid, respectively. Of course, their parents, Prince William and Kate Middleton, will also make an appearance.
