Almost two weeks after Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez announced their engagement, congratulatory messages from the couple's friends and family are still rolling in. It appears that everyone is over the moon for the duo-including Barack and Michelle Obama. Rodriguez was honored to share a handwritten note from the former president himself to Twitter with the caption, "This means the world to us. #44."

Rodriguez's post clearly displays the message, which reads, "Michelle and I just wanted to congratulate you on your engagement." Barack then went on to offer some inspiring advice: "After 26 years together, we can say that whatever challenges life may bring, sharing them with someone you love makes it all better. All the best, Barack Obama."

We can't think of a better marriage for the newly-engaged couple to emulate than the Obamas', especially since the political pair has been so forthcoming about their relationship-thanks, in part, to Michelle's new memoir Becoming. Jennifer and Alex have plenty more to learn from Barack and Michelle, who want all couples "to know that Michelle and Barack Obama, who have a phenomenal marriage and who love each other, we work on our marriage. And we get help with our marriage when we need it," the former first lady told Good Morning America.

As for now, Rodriguez and Lopez are still basking in the bliss of their surprise engagement. The former Yankees star confirmed to People thathe and the singer are in "similar places" in life thanks to "being born in New York, having Hispanic backgrounds, having two kids, and being in the public eye for almost three decades."
