6 Things Brides Don't Think Of—But Should
While there are some things brides freak out about, but shouldn't, there are also a few issues that are worth the worry. Here, top wedding planning company Alison Events helps sort out the difference.
Eat Something (and Feed Your Friends)
For many of our brides, we plan a meal for them as well as the wedding party on the day of the wedding. If you don't have a wedding planner or coordinator, make sure to plan a good, healthy meal for yourself and your bridal party. With everything going on, many brides forget to eat, which is an important part of making sure you enjoy your wedding day to the fullest (pun intended).
If you will be out in the sun or drinking a good amount of Champagne, it's important to drink a lot of water not only during your wedding, but the day before as well. Hydrating properly will have you feeling energized and healthy.
Avoid Aggressive Treatments
If you are planning to get a facial before your wedding day, get the facial two to three weeks prior. Don't get a facial the week of your wedding, unless you get facials on a regular basis and know you will not have redness for the wedding.
Mind the Sun
It is also important to keep sunburns and tan lines in mind. If you are wearing a strapless wedding gown, make sure you get an even tan on your clavicle and avoid wearing bathing suits with straps, as they can leave tan lines. Wear sunblock if you take a vacation or girls trip prior to the wedding to avoid sunburns, which can be unsightly on your big day.
Choose Comfy Shoes
If you are wearing a new pair of heels, make sure you break them in. Wear them around the house for a few weekends prior to the wedding day to ensure you don't get blisters. And, if your shoes are uncomfortable, bring a pair of flats to change into when you are ready to get on the dance floor.
Remember the Two Magic Words
Remember to send thank-you notes, not only to your guests and friends who helped with the wedding, but also to your wedding vendors. If a vendor goes above and beyond on your wedding day, send a tip. It means a lot to vendors to receive a gratuity, no matter the sum. It's the thought that counts!
