Paris may well be the City of Love, but France is full of other dreamy destinations that are ideal for a honeymoon, from the charming Champagne region to the glamorous French Riviera. To determine the best places for a romantic rendezvous, we partnered with the Foursquare city guide app and the check-in app Foursquare Swarm. The results are nothing less than magnifique!

 

Les Praz-de-Chamonix

The lowdown: This mountain village in the French Alps is a year-round playground, with top-notch skiing in the winter and scenic hiking and mountain biking come summer.

Foursquare tip: "The Saturday morning market at Place du Mont Blanc shouldn't be missed if you like to buy local produce."—John Williams, Brussels

Hotel to book: The cozy L'Hermitage Paccard has views of Mont Blanc, the highest peak in the Alps.

The lowdown: If you're a fan of bubbly, look no further than this town in Champagne. The Avenue of Champagne is where you'll find the top producers, from Moët et Chandon to Veuve Clicquot.
