Who says your little attendant can't wear some color on the wedding day? Have her serve as your "something blue" in one of these sweet frocks.

There's no rule that says your flower girl has to wear white. In fact, she can wear any color under the sun; dress her in a frock that coordinates with the bridesmaids, choose a floral number you love, or ask her to don your all-time favorite color down the aisle. If you're going with that last one, know that blue—particularly soft, subtle shades in the baby blue family—is an especially pretty choice.
For a spring or summer wedding, you can't go wrong with pale blue accents, so dress your flower girl to match. If it's a preppy, seaside wedding, opt for a fun pattern. Pale blue and white gingham, stripes, or seersucker all complement the theme without being too obvious. If you're having an ethereal wedding, look no further than a pale blue lace dress, or one with a light blue and white French toile pattern. (Bonus points if it has an adorable Peter Pan collar.) For casual, garden weddings, a light blue multi-colored liberty print will look so cute and timeless, while luxe fabrics like satin jacquard make pale blue shades evening or black-tie ceremony appropriate. What if you're getting married in the cold weather months, though? Luckily, light blue flower girl dresses work in the fall and winter, too. Heavier fabrics, like velvet or satin, and longer sleeves will keep her warm and comfy.
If your bridesmaids will be wearing blue, too, know that you don't have to stick to the same shade for both your adult attendants and the little ones. Try mixing it up instead, and have each person wear a different shade to create a gorgeous palette that will photograph so beautifully. And if you're not into the mismatched look, choose one hue for your 'maids and a lighter option for your flower girls.
