Amy Schumer Was a Bridesmaid, Probably a Really Fun One
Endless laughs, awesome selfies, and a hilarious-yet-down-to-earth wedding toast are just a few of the benefits we imagine go along with having Amy Schumer in your bridal party. This was a reality for lucky bride and groom, Tara and Rusty Fitton, who are friends with the Trainwreck star and tied the knot this weekend-with Schumer serving as a bridesmaid.
"Congratulations to @tara_alana and @rustolleum in the best wedding ever," the comedian posted on Instagram, along with a black-and-white photo with the newlyweds and her boyfriend, Ben Hanisch. "Very proud to be a bmaid."
It was also Hanisch's 30th birthday. "Happy 30th birthday to one of our bestest friends @benhanisch," the bride wrote on Instagram. And what better way to celebrate than watching your friends get hitched alongside your love?
Speaking of which, all this wedding talk has us wondering if Schumer and Hanisch have marriage on the mind. Schumer has been open about her feelings for the Chicagoan furniture maker. "Being in love is the scariest thing in the world," she told Marie Claire in her August cover interview. "You want to f--king cry and scream. I can't handle it. Every time we say goodbye, I think, 'This will have been a nice last week together.' Or I tell myself nothing is real and he's going to leave me and tell me he never loved me," she tells the magazine. "I feel so bad for him. How exhausting it must be dating me."
Whether or not they head down the aisle eventually, we know one thing: They make adorable wedding dates. Oh, and most importantly, we can only hope the happy couple enjoyed some wedding cake-"handcake" style.
