Serena Williams and Alexis Ohanian Are Married!
The couple's wedding took place in New Orleans on Wednesday.
The couple's Beauty and the Beast-themed wedding took place at the Contemporary Arts Centre, and was attended by Kim Kardashian West, Beyoncé, Ciara, LaLa Anthony, Kelly Rowland, and fellow tennis championCaroline Wozniacki. The entire wedding, from the rose and hydrangea centerpieces to the throne-style head table, was a fairytale, reported Vogue-andWilliams' Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen wedding dress was fit for a royal. At the ceremony, she stunned in a strapless, belted ball gown with a cape, and sparkled in $3.5 million worth of XIV Karats jewelry.
Williams' bridesmaids, including her sister, Venus, wore custom Galia Lahav, but the best dressed wedding party member was definitely the couple's daughter, Alexis Olympia. Following her little girl, the bride met Ohanian at the top of the aisle, where they exchanged their handwritten vows. "You are the greatest of all time, not just in sport," he told Williams. "I'm talking about as a mother and as a wife. I am so excited to write so many more chapters of our fairytale together. I am so grateful, and I am so in love."
After the couple said "I do," guests made their way to the reception, which designer Preston Bailey described as a "modern ball." Williams took her role as queen seriously, changing twice throughout the party. She donned a second wedding dress, a feathered Versace number, for dinner, before slipping into a short, fitted third fashion (also a Versace!) for her and her husband's first dance to "Tale as Old as Time."
The couple's nuptials followed last night's star-studded rehearsal dinner. Williams channeled old-Hollywood glamour for her pre-wedding look, sporting a beaded floor-length gown with pearls cascading down the back. People reported that the dinner took place at celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse's restaurant Meril on Wednesday night, and was attended by a long list of celebrities, including Eva Longoria, her husband José Antonio Bastón,Colton Haynes, and Tony Award winner Cynthia Erivo. The guests finished their meal with beignets from Cafe Du Monde, which were served from a truck outside the restaurant.
The duo's storybook wedding took place less than a year after they announced their engagement, and two months after they welcomed their first child. Their love story dates back to 2015, when the couple first crossed paths at a hotel in Rome.
